Dry Needling Knightsbridge, Dry Needling London

If you are looking for a proven treatment to reduce the visibility of scars, then contact Derma Medica today. As part of a range of skin treatments, including pigmentation treatment and rejuvenation treatment, we are pleased to offer the latest "dry needling" treatment in London, from our exclusive Knightsbridge clinic. Please read below to discover more about how our "dry needling treatments" could help you.

MCA “Dry Needling” for Scars

At DermaMedica, we use MCA (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation), commonly known as ‘dry needling’, the very latest form of technology used to reduce the visual effects of scarring. MCA is a micro-pigmentation technique used to re-pigment hypo-chromic skin and improve the appearance of scars. In some cases the results achieved can alter the landscape of the scar, making elevated scars flatter, contracted scars more flexible and stimulating the epidermis to reinstate melanin production.

How does the MCA work?

A fine needle is used to prick the skin, causing trauma to the epidermis layer. This then triggers the skin’s natural defence mechanism to produce collagen and elastin to help heal the wound. This in turn stimulates the brown melanocyte cells. The client can expect restoration of the natural pigmentation to the area after healing has taken place. If this doesn’t occur we at DermaMedica are able to camouflage the scars by adding skin tone pigments.

Before the procedure the client will have a topical anaesthetic cream applied, which minimizes the pain during the procedure. Once the client has finished the procedure, the skin may look scratched and irritated  for a few days. It is recommended that the treated area of the skin should be kept dry. Usually within 48 hours the client will be able to see a visible result from the MCA. Additional treatments are advised to achieve an optimal result.

MCA is designed to treat:

  • Acne scars
  • Burns
  • Skin Grafts
  • Surgical scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Wrinkles

What are the benefits of MCA?

  • In contrast to the Derma Roller, the MCA healing process is much quicker.
  • The Derma Roller usually takes 10-14 days of healing time, whilst the MCA only requires 3-4 days.
  • This is because the MCA only focuses on specific areas that need to be treated with a single needle.
