About this treatment

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a popular anti-ageing and rejuvenation treatment that involves taking a small amount of the patients blood and ‘spinning’ it to extract the platelet-rich plasma.

It is then injected back into the patient’s skin, usually using a microneedling pen, to enhance collagen production and improve the skins overall appearance and tone. This treatment is sometimes referred to as the ‘Vampire Facial’ and is a popular alternative to injectable treatments such as dermal fillers or Botox, as it does not involve standard needle injections.

We may also use this treatment process for hair restoration (link) treatment, with the platelet-rich plasma injected in to the scalp. Growth factors contained within the plasma then stimulate the hair follicles in the scalp, resulting in improved hair growth and denser, thicker hair coverage.

Additionally, PRP can be very effective in treating acne scarring and be used as an anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation treatment on the back of the hands, the neck, décolletage, arms and knees.
