Acne

Acne often results when hair follicles get blocked with dead skin, oil, and bacteria. It can take the form of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, or cysts, and is most common during the hormonal changes of puberty. However, for some people acne-prone skin is hereditary, and they suffer throughout their lives with it. This can cause a loss of confidence.

We offer a wide range of treatments to combat acne. The best option for you will depend on the type of acne you’re experiencing, as well as how bad it is. You may benefit from Dr Ahmed prescribing medical grade skincare solutions for you, or a treatment such as Dermalux, a HydraFacial, LED phototherapy, skin rejuvenation, or Venus Versa. Why not arrange a consultation with us to find out more?

Acne Scars

When a spot bursts, or is picked, it may damage the skin, leaving a scar. The shape of the resulting acne scar will determine how it is treated to remove it. Oval scars are known as ‘box scars’, deep v-shaped scars are called ‘ice pick’ scars, and wide skin depressions with smoother edges are referred to as ‘rolling scars’.

We can treat all acne scar types. Our various skin resurfacing treatment methods; microneedling, mesotherapy, and skin peels, will be discussed when we meet you for a skin assessment consultation. Don’t let acne scars eat away at your self-confidence. Come and find out more about our acne scar removal treatments.

Hand Ageing

Our hands are uncovered in the summer, which means they get a lot of exposure to UV light from the sun. This is why the skin is often first to succumb to signs of ageing when collagen production naturally decreases. These might take the form of age spots, or crepey, wrinkled skin. Our hands can give away our true age, as well as also prematurely age us!

We offer a number of different treatments to keep hands looking young. Dermalux and IPL are light therapy options, while fillers like dermal fillers, and Profhilo offer a quick skin resculpting fix, providing skin volume that has been lost. There are also skin resurfacing options available; such as skin peels, and microneedling, with or without AnteAge. To decide which treatment is going to get you the results you want, please book a consultation with Dr Ahmed at our Knightsbridge clinic.

Melasma

This skin condition involves an imbalance of pigmentation, causing patches of brown or grey skin to appear, giving you an uneven skin tone. It can be caused by sun exposure or hormone fluctuations. There are also skincare products that can trigger it.

To treat melasma, the first step we advise is booking a skin consultation with Dr Ahmed at our practice in Knightsbridge. Once your skin has been assessed we’ll be in a better position to suggest an appropriate treatment. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may find a skin peel will help, a HydraFacial, or being prescribed medical-grade skincare solutions.

Moles

If you wish to have a mole removed for cosmetic reasons, the treatment will depend on the type of mole, its location, and its size of it. We’ll need to ensure that the mole is benign first of all so that we know what we’re dealing with during the minor surgical procedure that will take place to remove it.

If you have any concerns about your mole; Ie it has changed in colour or size, or if it has become sore or itchy, please let Dr Ahmed know during your initial mole consultation. Once the mole has been established as benign, the standard cosmetic removal procedure can take place, and your skin will be mole-free.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation problems are usually caused by an excessive amount of melanin, which gives you an imbalance in skin tone. It often occurs as a result of exposure to UV light, hormones, or stress, and may manifest itself as brown spots, or dark, uneven skin.

Left alone, pigmentation often becomes more prominent with age. Skin resurfacing treatments, such as skin peels, HydraFacials, and Dermalux, along with medical-grade skincare products, can restore a balanced colour to your skin tone. Book yourself in for a consultation with us in Knightsbridge and find out the best options for you.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition that causes flushing and skin redness. This can happen at unexpected moments, or when an environmental trigger occurs. Along with the redness, sufferers may experience a burning sensation. The symptoms of rosacea tend to become more severe over time, often making a permanent mark on the skin. Thread veins and acne are commonly associated symptoms of rosacea too.

We can treat rosacea in several different ways. Options include non-invasive procedures using Venus Versa, Dermalux, and LED phototherapy, as well as applying relevant medical-grade skincare products prescribed by Dr Ahmed, specifically for use by you. To clear up rosacea symptoms, please get in touch with our Knightsbridge clinic to book a treatment consultation.

Stretch Marks

When skin is stretched quickly through weight gain, growing fast during puberty, pregnancy, or even through the use of some steroid creams, stretch marks may appear. They can appear in numerous areas on the body and are often red, brown, pink, purple, or black initially. They do fade to silver over time but are still highly visible.

To find out whether LPG Endermologie, Venus Versa, or AQ GFIT is going to be the best treatment option for you, we’d like you to visit us for a skin assessment consultation. This will allow us to make a decision based on the location and severity of the stretch marks that need to be removed.
