Moles are a very common condition that can appear anywhere on the body.
About this condition
Moles are usually brown or black in colour and are caused by clusters of pigmented cells forming. Over time they may change or disappear. Most moles are not dangerous but if a mole changes colour, shape or size or becomes itchy or sore it should be checked in case it is cancerous.
Normally, there is no medical reason to remove a benign mole but, depending on their location, size and type, some people prefer to seek treatment advice and have them removed. This will be done as a minor surgical procedure and discussed with you in detail at your treatment consultation.
