About this condition

The scar tissue that forms is different in texture and appearance to the surrounding skin and in some cases may be unattractive or unsightly. There are several different types of scar including keloid scars, which are more pronounced than the original injury, contracture scars that form as a result of burns and tighten the skin, hypertrophic scars, which are raised and red in colour, and post-operative scars.

Treatment recommendations for scarring may include Venus Versa, skin resurfacing, microneedling and LPG Endermologie. Local steroid injections may also be recommended depending on the type of scarring, its size and severity. All of these options will be discussed in detail with you at your consultation, prior to any treatment taking place.
