Frequently asked questions
Is this treatment right for me?Microneedling may be recommended for a wide range of skin conditions and as a general anti-ageing treatment. It will not be recommended if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or are being treated for certain skin conditions. This will be discussed with you at your patient consultation.
How does this treatment work?We use a dermastamp for this treatment, which contains multiple tiny needles. As the device is moved gently across the skin, the needles penetrate the skin’s surface creating multiple tiny wounds and facilitating a natural healing process in the skin’s layers. This in turn stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin beneath the skin.
Will I feel any pain during my treatment? Some discomfort may be felt but this is usually very mild.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with this treatment? Some swelling, irritation, redness or peeling may occur immediately after treatment but this will usually not last for more than a day or two.
