About this treatment
The energy heats the skin’s dermis via thermal conduction, a process also known as fibroblasting. We use the latest Accord Plasma Pen to effectively treat a wide range of conditions including acne scars, crow’s feet, wrinkles and fine lines, jowls, vertical lip lines, eye bags, eye lids and sagging or ageing skin on the face and neck.
This non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment offers an excellent alternative to injectable treatments for those patients who don’t like needles, lifting and tightening the skin and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. It is particularly beneficial in treating smaller, difficult to reach areas of the face that other treatment techniques may not be suitable for, for example the eyelids and eye bags.
Plasma Pen offers long-lasting results, as well as short treatment times and minimal downtime.
Frequently asked questions
Is this treatment right for me?Plasma Pen is suitable for most skin types. We will discuss the benefits of this treatment, as well as suitable alternative treatment options, at your initial patient consultation.
How does this treatment work?Plasma Pen stimulates the contraction, shortening and tightening of skin fibres, resulting in the overall tightening and lifting of the skin. It is a hand-held device that looks like a large pen and delivers energised gas to the skin, causing trauma in the skin’s top layers and sending heat to the skin’s dermal layers. This heat stimulates collagen production and results in the tightening and lifting the skin.
Will I feel any pain during my treatment? There is usually some mild or medium level discomfort associated with Plasma Pen treatment. The level of discomfort will depend on the condition and the area of the face or body being treated. This will be discussed with you at your consultation and prior to treatment taking place.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with this treatment? You may experience swelling, bruising and tenderness in the treated areas. Scabbing will also appear following treatment and will last for several days.
